A family-run business

The story of our brand begins in the 1950s, in the Mauges region of western France, when Florent Bellamy and his brother Hubert founded a shoemaking workshop. Our expertise in this craft is rooted in the family tradition of leatherworking, which dates back to the 1930s when we made jackets for the French army.

From the very beginning, the company has specialised in children’s footwear, with a clear commitment: creating products of the highest quality. The first factory was established in 1958 in La Chapelle-du-Genêt, where the company’s headquarters are still located today. In the 1980s, Yann Bellamy – Florent’s son – took the helm before handing over the reins to his children, Laurent and Pascal, in the 2010s.

Today, Bellamy is one of the few remaining French family-run businesses in the children's footwear sector that has managed to keep its manufacturing workshop based locally, that is to say, in the Maine-et-Loire department.
